St Asaph The area around Pennant Park has many quaint pubs and restaurants which serve excellent food and occasional musical entertainment is provided - especially during the summer months. The town of Holywell has excellent facilities.

St. Asaph the city of music is only 12 miles away. It is very conveniently situated at the gateway to the beautiful Vale of Clwyd with a direct link off the A55 Expressway. Although small (pop approx. 3500) it is full of historical interest and its origins date back to around 560 AD.

For visitors wishing to enjoy the pleasures of walks around the City, the River Elwy forms the focus of a number of interesting routes which offer both the peace and tranquillity of the countryside and a wealth of interest for the botanist, birdwatcher or general nature lover. Here is one romantically called The Poacher's Trail.

North Wales has plenty of things to keep you and your family busy.

Fishing

Fishing

If fishing is your then there's plenty to choose from. Whether you are interested in Sea Fishing, Course Fishing or Fly Fishing you should find some water that suits you. There is a lovely course fishery several of miles from the park which is set in the grounds of a country house. Beach fishing seems to be getting better each year with fishermen reporting good catches from the beach at Talacre which is several miles away.

Crown Green Bowling

Castles

Castle Wales is often called the "Land of Castles" and rightly so, as it is home to some of Europe's finest surviving examples of medieval castle construction. The Castles of Wales survive today in a variety of conditions, ranging from completely ruined to castles that still serve as stately homes for their owners.

Beaches

Rhyl, Prestatyn and Talacre are just twelve miles by car. Rhyl has three miles of golden sands and Prestatyn four, stretched over three beaches. Ffrith Beach, Central Beach and Barkby Beach. There are activities both traditional and modern to suit all ages and abilities, from strolling along the promenade at Rhyl to cycling along the seven mile section of the National Cycle route that runs between the two resorts. Talacre Beach is an award winning beach.

Markets

Various markets, including Sundays, visit one every day.
